Supported by the\u00a0Japan Foundation, the Hawke Research Institute at the University of South Australia, the School of Sociology at Kwansei Gakuin University, and the College of Sociology at Rikkyo University, Anthony Elliott and Eric Hsu brought together a collection of scholars, policy-makers, artists and practitioners working on disaster mobilities. Talks ranged from explorations of disaster or\u00a0<em>Dark heritage tourism <\/em>(Honggang Xu, Sun Yat-sen University, China)\u00a0to reports of artistic projects of <em>Making Sense of Disaster\u00a0<\/em>and resilience (Angharad Wynne-Jones, Arst House; Jen Rae, Melbourne University; Marnie Badham, RMIT) to a long duree perspective on the <em>Lost Decades: Disasters, Recessions and Political Crises in Japan and Global Society\u00a0<\/em>(Shunya Yoshimi, Tokyo University).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve returned inspired from the\u00a0Mobile Cultures of Disaster Conference,\u00a022 March &#8211; 24 March 2017 at the University of South Australia in Adelaide.
