Transport In The Media – a symposium with Rachel Aldred, CeMoRe Visiting Research Fellow on 9 & 10 June 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n

This interdisciplinary symposium explores relationships between transport policy and practice, academic research, and the media. It includes presentations, workshops, and roundtable discussions with academics and practitioners. Themes include –<\/p>\n

– methods for studying ‘new’ and ‘old’ media<\/p>\n

– how transport academics could or should engage with the media<\/p>\n

– media coverage of controversial transport topics including debates over road-building and rail safety<\/p>\n

– how (and if) media coverage can lead to policy change<\/p>\n

The symposium starts with lunch on Monday 9th June (12-7pm) and continues on Tuesday 10th (9:30-12:30). It will be held at ¶¶ÒõAPPµ¼º½’s Conference Centre and is organised by CeMoRe in collaboration with Westminster University.<\/p>\n

There will be a self-funded evening meal at The Borough, Dalton Square, Lancaster on 9th June – a menu and details of how to pay will be sent to all registrants.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
